Like many people, I remember the impact of her appearance on Opportunity Knocks and I thought she was awesome. Over the years I always remembered her but imagined she must have just quit showbiz. It really hurt when I did a websearch and found she was dead and read of her problems. No one should have EVER made her feel fat. She was lovely - as a child AND as a young woman. Yes, I admit it - I cried. It felt like a special piece of my own life was no more. God bless you, lovely Lena. Your like is not seen these days. xx

I was born a year before Lena and I remember her from "Opportunity Knocks". She was an outstanding talent and some of her later performances are among the best of the twentieth century. I think it's scandalous that none of her albums have been transferred to CD as her work deserves a wider audience. It can't be that difficult to do - the master tapes must be somewhere and if not it's possible to do it from vinyl. I'd be willing to support such a project, and to keep her memory alive. Keep up the good work.

I remember this woman as the small child with the huge voice. What a shame. What a waste. She's better off now, wherever she is.

I have grown up with Lena in my life throughout. It seems that she has always been around and always will be. It is as if she was a memeber of my family. A wonderful person, sadly, I never got to meet or see her live. It's strange, but everytime I see Bonnie Langford, It reminds me of Lena, Why I don't know, but are lovely people. Was really sad when Lena passed away at such a young age, but she will never be forgotten. A legend never dies, buy lives on forever in peoples hearts. Fantastic website and one I will visit regular. Thanks on behalf of Lena fans for providing a wonderfull site in memory of Lena.

I am 2 years older than Lena, and as a child i remember watching opportunity knocks everyweek with my mum and dad and bros an sisters, i watched Lena each week and she was amazing, i kept an eye out in her career as i grew up, i was lucky enough to have a great career my self and World Champion sportsman, i feel very lucky to have been able to handle things with no problems and feel so sad that Lena had her problems and could not solve them and enjoy her amazing talent, i am sure there are so many people who remember her with so many fond and happy memories and so her life will always be remembered, i am not religous but if i were then god please you Lena x

Not long ago I discoverd lena and I was amazed what talent she had.
Every morning when I wake up,I turn on my computer and with my cup of coffee,I listen to the music from Lena.
It's sad that she isn't around us anymore and this terrible disease toke over her life,if I think of this it's heartbreaking.
Eventhough she isn't around us anymore her memory must stay alive and thanks to this site the first steps are made.
It's to bad that there isn't any materieel of her on cd.
I try to get as much that I can from the internet.
I hope one day there will be someone out there that will see all this talent and maybe they bring a cd and dvd on the market for all of her fans and for the ones who never heard of lena because it's a shame that a talent like this isn't availble for everyone...
Keep her spirit alive,sylvia

Isn't it funny after all these years how you remember someone who seemed untouchable at the time, but made such an impact on your life. Although I never knew Lena, when she passed, I had the same feeling of grief that I did when Diana passed whom i also never knew.
The website is great thank you.XX

I grew up with her, and sat mesmerized watching Opportunity Knocks. How sad that it seemed like everyone in her childhood was so busy grooming her talent that her need to feel loved and cared for seemed to be ignored. RIP Lena, you should have had so much more.
